A 42-year old woman from South Wales in the UK found a living spider had crawled into her ear canal.
Victoria Price asked her husband to investigated after she was suffering pain in the ear.
Ms Price's husband using a torch spotted a live creature moving in her ear, but he wasn't sure what it was prompting Ms Price to visit the local hospital.
Ms Price told the triage nurse 'There's something alive in there, apparently. I thought it was an infection, but my husband says he can see something alive'.
'She took the cotton wool out, shone in the light and said 'Okay' and then went off to find someone who would take it out.'
That, someone, was nurse practitioner Sarah Gaze, who says removing the spider from the Ms Price inner ear was a very straightforward task.
'It was alive and very wriggly ... it must have been twice as big as it first looked,' she said.
'Victoria was very brave, braver than me. I didn't find it a pleasant experience at all, but it was my job, so I had to overcome my fear.'
